Background Info.
Games are one of the most popular leisure and recreational activities for people of all ages and cultures. In addition to traditional professional sports, playing games are also providing professional opportuntities to make a living. Games are available in a wide variety of types: board games, card games, and video games for example. There are games that require skill, luck, or trivia knowledge as well.
Student Product
For this assignment, students will develop and deliver a short PowerPoint presentation related to their favorite game. Students will present either face-to-face or through Teams. Student presentations should be approximately 60 seconds in length.
Content Rubric
- Title slide contains: Student Name, Class Period, and Favorite Game [2 Points]
- Second slide describes the basic premise / idea behind the game. [2 Points]
- Third slide explains the type of the game (e.g. chance, skill, trivia, puzzle, etc.) AND the genre of the game (e.g. action, adventure, FPS, RPG, etc.) [2 Points]
- Fourth slide explains and describes why this game is your favorite. [2 Points]
- Presentation utilizes a DESIGN THEME to improve its visual appearance. [2 Points]
- Presentation utilizes SLIDE TRANSITIONS for each slide. [2 Points]
- Presentation includes at least one relevant picture or image on each slide. [5 Points]
- Presentation includes at least one animation that DOES NOT DISTRACT from the visual appearance on each slide (e.g. do not make a picture fly around like a tornado for no reason). [5 Points]
- Text is presented in BULLET / NUMBERED LIST form (don't write paragraphs of text). [5 Points]
