Every day you should:

  1. Login to DCPS OneView.
  2. Read your DCPS e-mail.
  3. Login to Teams, even if face-to-face.
  4. Open your Standards Excel spreadsheet.
  5. Follow any additional instructions from the teacher.

Instruction [~10-15 Minutes]

Students will discuss the critical elements of a story.

Work [~30-45 Minutes]

Students will write a short story based on the map created for the Fantasy World Creation project.

Break Down [~5 Minutes]

Before you leave please do the following::

  1. BACKUP your data in at least two locations.
  2. RESTART the computer.
  3. TURN OFF the monitor.
  4. COLLECT your materials.
  5. WAIT quietly to be dismissed.
  6. PUSH in your chair when you leave.
  7. THROW away any trash in the trashcan as you leave.

Homework

Finish any class work not completed during the period.

Read for fun, at least 20 minutes.

[Digital Art] [Enrichment] Photoshop Battle #00: Athletes with Instruments

The image above was the inspiration for this project idea. It is a funny picture that also requires significant photo editing skills. For this project you need to:

  • Find a picture of at least one athlete competing in a game or match. Save it to your computer and / or USB drive.
  • Find a picture of one or more musical instruments. Save those pictures to your computer and / or USB drive.
  • Use Paint.net or GNU Image Manipulation Project Portable to create an image showing the athletes playing the instruments.
    • In-class examples will use Paint.net for demonstration purposes.

Content Rubric

  • FIRST NAME and LAST INITIAL only in BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER. [5 Points]
  • Must show at least one athlete playing instrument in a match / game. [2.5 Points]
    • Must show athlete holding/playing/actually touching the instrument!
  • Any equipment [bats, hockey sticks, basketballs, etc.] REMOVED from picture. [2.5 Points]
    • Helmets, jerseys, and other articles of clothing do not need to be edited out of the picture.
  • Image demonstrates investment of time and effort. [10 Points]

Process Rubric

  • File format is .png or .jpg or .gif [5 Points]
  • Create a compressed folder that contains
    1. The original pictures you downloaded.
    2. The picture you created.
